How long does each therapy session take, and how often are they held?
This is something that we will discuss together to determine the best match for your needs. That being said, typical sessions last 40 minutes and are held once per week. As you progress towards your goals, this will likely be reduced.
What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?
CBT is a method of psychotherapy treatment. It is my method of choice because it has been thoroughly researched in a multitude of scientific experiments and shown to be effective for a broad range of psychological issues (including anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, trauma, and much more). It is considered the "gold standard" of treatments in our field. It is also very user-friendly, intuitive, and straightforward. CBT provides the flexibility to tackle specific goals in a concrete way, while also exploring more deep-rooted issues. It can be tailored to each client's individual needs and situation.
We will talk more about this together, but the basic premise of CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. Thus, if we want to modify our feelings, we can do this by changing our thoughts and behaviors.
Do you take insurance?
I accept insurance for NY-based clients only at this time.
The cost of a 40-minute session is $200. Many clients paying out of pocket are able to be reimbursed by their insurance companies for a portion of the cost via out-of-network benefits.
